Kuching Marathon 2014 - 42km Route in Pictures

Welcome to Cat City!

What I have done is taken pics of the 42km route of the Kuching Marathon to be held on 17th August 2014. Some of the route was traversed on foot, while some were snaps taken from a moving vehicle. I have tried to put as many pics as I can of the route. For those living in Kuching, I am sure much of the route is known to them, except the parts that go through the village for the first 9km. The pics will give the first time runner an idea of what to expect. The bulk of the run will be at Petra Jaya, or across river. The area is relatively flat, except for a couple of inclines before the halfway mark. There is a lot of tree cover in the beginning. A very exposed stretch after the halfway mark is the only challenge. As the runner heads back to the city there will be a steep incline. After that it's only a hop, skip and jump to the finish line. Be sure to check out the numerous landmarks along the route.
