Walk into the Guinness Book of Records
Who wants to walk their way in the Guinness Book of Records on 11th October 2014 at the Kuching Waterfront? All you have to do is sign up and donate to your charity of choice from the list provided, and you can do just that. By the way it's only a 1km walk. The organisers are targeting a turnout of 5,000 participants. The previous achievement was recorded in Shanghai on 10th June 2012, involving 1,039 participants. The Kuching attempt is supported by the State Government. The 1BFF
Pending Sports and Recreational Club is now fundraising and making sure
all requirements for the record attempt would be adhered to. If all goes according to plan, six months after the event they will get the official recognition. Registration is open until October. All participants at the Guinness Book of Records attempt will receive certificates. For more information, visit www.facebook.com/ImagineRetroWalk or call 082-455 259. Those who want to register can also go directly to their website by clicking here. Those who register can choose whether they want the official t-shirt or not. Since we runners know that 11th and 12th October 2014 will be dates for the BSN Putrajaya Night Marathon and the Standard Chartered KL Marathon respectively, those who cannot run it but want to register, can also nominate a walker for this record breaking event.
