Sarawak 's Purple Walk of Love - We Care, We Share

Turning Kuching Purple

Around 6,000 people of all ages, from all walks of life turned up at the Kuching Civic Centre to support Sarawak's Purple Walk of Love.  The event was jointly held by Welfare, Women and Family Development Ministery, Women, Family and Community Development Ministry and non-governmental organisations (NGOs). It was the finale of the International Women's Day celebration and also to help promote the various NGOs to the public and also a membership drive. What's more many came out to show their support for MH370. There were numerous banners and placards showing how much we Malaysians cared for those lost to us in such tragic circumstances. I was told that sixty NGOs took part in this event. That in itself shows solidarity and total commitment to such a wonderful event. Yours truly enjoyed taking pictures of as many participants during the 2.7km walk. I started at the back and ran to the front doing my best Tey Eng Tiong imitation. Am so glad I joined this event, even if it meant sacrificing my long morning run. Let my pictures tell the story...
